♦ Boron Carbide |
is one of the hardest materials known, ranking second behind diamond. Boron carbide is characterized as following:
· Extreme hardness, Moh's hardness 9.36；
· Difficult to sinter to high relative density without the use of sintering aids;
· Good chemical resistance;
· Good nuclear properties;
High temperature, low density, resistance gravity:
·2.52g/cm3, smelting point: 2450℃. |

is characterized by its high wear resistance and good mechanical properties. Its typical characteristics are as following:
· Low density and high strength;
· Good resistance to high temperature;
· Good wear resistance and anti-friction properties;
· Excellent resistance to sudden changes in temperature;
· Good chemical resistance and oxidation resistance;
· Low thermal expansion and high thermal conductivity (superior
to steel);
